Wenzheng is responsible for the design, execution and oversight of translational studies evaluating new therapeutic targets and candidates through the development and application of ophthalmic disease models. Wenzheng has over twenty years of experience in translational research and ophthalmic clinical evaluation, procedures and surgery. Wenzheng received his MD and PhD from Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Eye and ENT Hospital of Shanghai Medical College, among China’s premiere ophthalmic hospitals and research centers, and a postdoctoral research fellowship in retinal and vitreous disease at Indiana University School of Medicine. Prior to joining Virscio, Wenzheng was an Assistant Scientist at Indiana University School of Medicine before contributing to multiple drug development initiatives as a Research Scientist at Bausch & Lomb.
